I was catching a train at Leeds railway station when I saw this scene with the bright light and shadows. Out came my Canon G7X compact camera and the picture was taken very quickly. Well I didn’t want to miss my train!
The former Leeds White Cloth Hall was a plumbers merchants when I photographed it in 1975. It is now a Pizza Express restaurant.
The first White Cloth Hall was built in 1711. This, the second White Cloth Hall, was built in 1775.
I photographed it in 1975 on my Pentax Spotmatic ll film SLR camera and on 1st October 2016 on my Canon G7X digital compact camera.
Over the years the large chimney on the left has changed colour from black to red and the car park at the right hand side has evolved into a restaurant.

Some people call them mannequins. Some people call them dummies. Either way, they too were redundant when BHS closed down. They were even for sale.
Photographed at BHS, Leeds on my Canon S 120 compact camera 1st August 2016.
In these pictures I have made use of the shapes at the top of the buildings and then placed the buildings at the bottom of the frame with the sky taking up most of the picture.
All of these pictures were taken during 2016 on my Canon S120 compact camera.
